Taster Day

Taster Days are the perfect opportunity to find out everything about studying and living at the Northern Racing College. We look forward to welcoming you, your family and friends to the Centre of Excellence for the Racing Industry.

Taster Day, which is lead by our instructor team and student's, offers a relaxed yet informative overview of life at the Northern Racing College. Covering everything from the training we deliver to our residential accommodation, our aim is to create a realistic impression of the learning journey our students complete before embarking on employment in a racing stable.

Taster Day is not to be confused with an Open Day, at which events are stage managed. Taster Day follows a programme identical to what the students follow daily.

Taster Day Programme Includes:

  • Riding Demonstration, to include watching our students exercising our horses on the gallops. Subject to the experience of the students and the weather this may include riding through the starting stalls and schooling over the hurdles and steeplechase fences.
  • Tour of the Stable Yards, to include meeting our blue-blooded racehorses and speaking to our students
  • Equicisor Training, to include observing our students receiving tuition on the art of race-riding
  • Residential Centre, to include a tour of the residential facility.

Please Note: The extent of the residential tour will be dependant on the availability of vacant bedrooms.

Date: Last Friday of every month (excluding December)
