Overview
The Northern Racing College (The Northern Centre
of Excellence for the Racing Industry), is situated in the beautiful grounds of
Rossington Hall
just off the A638 (Great North Road),
approximately 7 miles south of Doncaster in the metropolitan
county of South Yorkshire.
Since opening in 1984, our aim has always been to provide high quality training for young people who want to work in the racing industry. This leads to the achievement of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ's) together with practical experience in trainers' yards.
Approximately 100 students complete our 12-week residential 'NVQ level 1 Foundation Course' each year. This is the starting point for students with no previous experience of working with horses and for those with some equine but limited racing experience.
We accept people with various levels of experience and ability and provide outstanding support and guidance for all our students, both at the college and in the work place. Our team of professional and occupationally competent staff will provide the best start for those wishing to succeed in the racing industry, currently among the top ten employers in the U.K.
We attract students from all over the country and abroad and our reputation for excellence is recognised throughout the industry.
The Northern Racing College is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for staff and students regardless of age, gender, race, religion or sexual orientation.
