Foundation Course Only

Once we have received your application form our Training Manager will make a decision about your suitability. You will be notified of the outcome by letter. The majority of students will be invited to the College for an interview. To make sure you are selected for interview remember to complete your application form in full and include your equine experience (where applicable) and why you have chosen to study at the Northern Racing College. Your application is your opportunity to 'sell yourself' so don't let yourself down.

Interviews take place throughout the year. Expect to be interviewed several months before you hope to join the Northern Racing College.

The interview will involve you meeting with several staff and will last approximately two hours. You will receive a tour of the College and will meet with the interview panel, which is usually two people. Remember an interview is an opportunity for you to ask questions. You will also be asked to take part in a basic maths and English test which allows us to identify the level you are currently working at. The results allow us to provide you with support, should it be needed for you to pass your Key Skills, which form part of the Apprenticeship programme.

Remember to bring to your interview letters of reference, your exam grades (if you have sat your exams) and certificates of other achievements you may have achieved.
